چکیده

We investigated the effect of viewing conditions on human visual perception of colorfulness and constructed a mathematical model for colorfulness by fitting regression curves to LUTCHI color appearance data. This model enables the simple and effective prediction of the relative appearance attribute of colorfulness as a function of brightness and saturation, taking into account a range of viewing conditions, and hence provides a method of image reproduction for home display systems that can be easily adapted according to indoor viewing conditions. key words: color appearance, colorfulness, brightness, saturation

Self-induced color correction for skin tracking under varying illumination

An important challenge of any skin color based tracking system is to accommodate varying illumination conditions. We present a method for automatic transformation of the color planes to match the skin color model learnt for a fixed illumination. The first couple of initial frames are used to automatically extract the palm region which in turn serves as an observed skin color palette which needs...

Eecient Color Segmentation under Varying Illumination Conditions

Video-based human body tracking using color segmentation often causes problems due to movements of the object or changes in the global illumination parameters. In this paper the innuence of varying lighting conditions and large object movements in space is measured and analysed. For color segmentation an eecient technique for histogram-classiication is used. Based on the measurement results we ...

Experiments on Adaptive Soft-Copy Color Reproduction

The perceived colors of an image seen on a self-luminous display are affected by viewing flare and perceptual phenomena, both of which vary with the ambient illumination. A framework for a display system that is capable of adapting its output to varying viewing environments is introduced. The proposed system uses a light sensor such as a CCD camera to estimate properties of ambient illumination...

The Color Constancy Problem: An Illumination Invariant Mapping Approach

We suggest a novel approach to the Color Constancy Problem for multispectral imagery. Our approach is based on a dichromatic illumination model and lters out all spectral information which possibly stems from the illumination rather than from the re ectance of a given surface. Instead of recovering the re ectance signal, the suggested mapping produces a new only surface re ectance-dependent des...
